Es handelt sich um gegrillte Hackfleischr\u00f6llchen. Die Mititei wurden laut \u00dcberlieferung im Bukarester Restaurant \u201eCarul cu bere\u201c kreiert und erstmals 1902 angeboten.<br \/>\nDieses Mititei-Rezept unterscheidet sich deutlich von den \u00e4hnlich aussehenden balkanischen Spezialit\u00e4ten (Cevapcici) dieses Genres.<\/p>\n<p>Klassische Beilagen zu den Mititei sind Senf, Brot oder Pommes frites. Je nach Geschmack werden auch salzig eingelegte gr\u00fcne Tomaten (rum\u00e4nisch gogonele), Tomatenpaprika (Gogo\u0219ari) und Salzgurken als auch fein gehackte Zwiebeln, Telemea (K\u00e4se), Oliven und eine mit Chilis gesch\u00e4rfte Zacusc\u0103 serviert.
